St Benet’s Abbey is well known as an important heritage site - but its position in the middle of the Broads ESA means that it’s important for wildlife too.
The Trust has teamed up with the Norfolk Wildlife Trust to put together a fascinating - and free!- programme of practical workshops on how to survey and record wildlife at the site, to include butterflies, dragonflies and recognising birdsong. Contact info@stbenetsabbey.org to book.
See the WILD workshops programme (above) plus the Wildlife Surveys Volunteer role description (below). Please feel free to pass on this information to anyone you think might be interested in getting involved
Future events
The WILD workshops, and our very popular 'Reading the Landscape' day schools, mark the beginning of a packed and varied programme of activities and events coming up at St Benet’s. Highlights will include:
- a special outdoor performance of ‘Ideas of Flight’ by The Voice Project
- CREATE: a day of creative activities for all the family
- A Monk’s Life: medieval reenactment, music and more.
